ऐतिहासिक महत्व :

सरदार वल्लभभाई पटेल (31 अक्टूबर, 1875 – 15 दिसंबर, 1950) को भारत के लौह पुरुष के रूप में जाना जाता है, जो भारत के स्वतंत्रता संग्राम में एक प्रमुख व्यक्ति थे, और स्वतंत्र भारत के पहले उप प्रधान मंत्री और गृह मंत्री थे। वह नव स्वतंत्र राष्ट्र में रियासतों के एकीकरण में अपने नेतृत्व के लिए सबसे प्रसिद्ध हैं। उनके प्रयासों से यह सुनिश्चित हुआ कि विविध और खंडित राज्य एकीकृत भारत के रूप में एक साथ आये। स्वतंत्रता संग्राम के दौरान उन्होंने ब्रिटिश सरकार के खिलाफ खेड़ा सत्याग्रह और बारडोली विद्रोह का सफलतापूर्वक नेतृत्व किया। 1931 में उन्हें कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष चुना गया। पटेल को 1991 में मरणोपरांत भारत के सर्वोच्च नागरिक पुरस्कार भारत रत्न से सम्मानित किया गया।

HISTORICAL IMPORTANCE  :  

Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel (October 31, 1875- December 15, 1950) is popularly known as Iron Man of India, a key figure in India’s freedom struggle, and the first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister of independent India. He is most famous for his leadership in the integration of the princely states into the newly independent nation. His efforts ensured that the diverse and fragmented states came together as a unified India. During freedom struggle he successfully led Kheda Satyagraha and Bardoli revolt against British government. He was elected Congress President in 1931. Patel was posthumously awarded the Bharat Ratna in 1991, India’s highest civilian award.
