The Government of India issued a commemorative coin to mark the 175th birth anniversary of Jamsetji Nussserwanji Tata, one of India’s most illustrious industrialists and philanthropists, often referred to as the “Father of Indian Industry.”Jamsetji Tata’s vision led to the establishment of key industrial giants in India, including the Tata Steel plant (the first steel plant in India, established in Jamshedpur) and the Tata Group. He was also a pioneer in promoting education and scientific research, and his contributions are considered foundational to the modern industrial and social infrastructure of India.

The coin serves as a tribute to Tata’s immense contribution to India’s industrial and cultural growth.
